Summer Learning Journey Activity three day two

Hello bloggers,
In this blog post I will talk to you about a maths problem that is about cactus. Some cactus can survive by having 3 millilitres of water a day!  The problem is you get a cactus for your birthday and it needs 3 millilitres of water a day to survive. How much water do you need to keep it alive for one year? This question is a mix of plant life and maths.

I think it needs 1095 millilitres of water in a year because 3x365=1095. I think this because it needs 3 millilitres a day and there is 365 days in a year so the answer should be 1095. Here is my video. To figure out the multiplication I just already knew it. But if you don't know how to then just add 365 3 times and you will get the answer.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please give me feedback. What is your answer? Comment it. BYE!!

  1. Hi again Vitaraag,

I can tell that you've been thinking hard about how to solve this cactus problem. I like that you found a formula that works (water x days), I enjoyed watching your video and hearing some more of your thoughts.

A friendly reminder; the activity asks you to solve the problem by explaining how you would figure it out. Although you have given the correct answer, I cannot see your working out. To put it into perspective, did you just know that 3x365 was 1095 straight away, or did you do some working out? If so it'd be great to see. :)

In order to award you full points for this activity please make sure you edit your blog post to show your working out.

Keep working hard, I look forward to reading your updated post.

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.
