Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 5 Week 2

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about river pollution. River pollution is when the river is really polluted and you can't swim in it anymore. Today I will list 2 rivers that are polluted what their names are where they are and what people are doing to help it.

Manuwatu
Manawatu is near the bottom of the north island of NZ. In 2018 people were doing a clean up. They are planning to meet every six months. There plans are to.
• Reduce the cause of erosion
• Reduce the farming and factory's so it won't get dirty

 Waikato
The Waikato river runs for 425 kilometres and is basically the whole north island.  They are doing lots of things to help Waikato river stay alive.

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. Do you want to clean up these lakes? Comment it. BYE!!

  1. Konnichiwa Vitaraag,

You have provided one polluted river; the Manuwatu River, ka pai. The Manuwatu River is a one very polluted water way here in the North Island. Hopefully clean up efforts continue on and one day succeed, though it won't be easy. Perhaps next time you could include an explanation of what 'erosion' is and how it harms the river.

Unfortunately Lake Wairarapa is in fact a lake, so please edit your post to include information about another one of Aotearoa's polluted rivers. Don't forget to include its name, location and whether there is anything being done to clean it up. You will be awarded full points for this activity once you have done this. :)

Thinking about these polluted rivers reminds me of how polluted lots of our beaches are. Waikowhai Bay is located near my home, I like to go have lunch there sometimes and just enjoy the sea scent. I've read that it is safe to swim in, but I don't often see people swimming there. Have you ever gone swimming at Waikowhai Bay?

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.
