What is one thing that surprised you? Zip lines went through forests.

What is one thing that concerned or upset you? Some of the activities took long but shouldn't of taken that long.

What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment? Adopt animals that are endangered.

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. BYE!! I am sorry this blog post was short. BYE!!

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 5 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about adoption day. Adoption Day is hen we adopt animals to save their life. I have to choose three animals and compare and contrast them and after that I have tot write down which on I would adopt.

I choose Eagle, a Macaw, and Read tailed hawk. They are similar because they all can fly and are a type of bird. All of them have a beck. They are different because of there color. They are also different because they have different techniques to hunt. They are all reptiles. They are all birds. I would like to adopt the Eagle because I love eagles and they look so cool and has done nothing wrong.

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. Who would you adopt? Comment it. BYE!!

Summer Learning Journey Activity 3 Day 4 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about outside of NZ. We are going to talk about Machu Picchu. To reach there you have to go on a train or walk through valleys and mountains to go there. Lots of tourists come and walk through Machu Picchu. But that damages the area so the government said that they are going to restrict the  amount of people going there every year. I have to tell you if I think the rule is fair that the government made.

I think that it is fair because they still allow people to go there but they lowered it. If they didn't make this rule Machu Picchu would of been wrecked. I still think it is also a little unfair because it is a very slim chance that you re going to be allowed to go there. I think soon that the government should find a solution. For example they could put a drone in it and look around the mountain or something like that. What solutions can you think of?

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. Do you think this is a fair rule? Comment it. BYE!!

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 4 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about plastic bags. Plastic has took over the world (not really). Some companies in NZ have stopped giving out plastic bags. Countdown is one of them. I have to tell you want I think of countdown stopping giving out plastic bags.

Personally I think that it is a good thing because plastic bags take about 10 - 1000 years to decompose. When it does it is still bad for the environment. Think about this 999999999999999999 plastic bags (That was just a guess). 999999999999999999 x 1000 if you do the math that how many years it will take to biodegrade that may plastic bags.

My mum said  that she thinks it is a good idea because marine animals are dying because they are eating rubbish like plastic. She said she watched a video where they found lots of dead marine animals that all died because they ate rubbish and that is our fault.

Hello Bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about predators from New Zealand and getting rid of them. Predators are getting rid of animals. Organisations say that in 2050 it will be predator free in NZ. I watched three videos about getting rid of predators and I have to say which one I think is the best and why.

I think the third video was the best because it explains what animals are getting hurt why they are doing it and answers questions that you are most likely to say. The organisation is called ZIP. They are partnered with Doc Rangers. They use motion detectors to see if any action is going on. They put traps and cameras.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 3 Day 2 Week

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about animal life. Animals can get endangered at anytime organisations are trying to stop endangered animal from becoming extinct. There is an organisation called the Fauna & Flora International or for short FFI. They have saved lots of things and I have to choose one that interests me and why I like it.

I like the project for the cat ba langur because they look so so cute. I feel like this was an endangered species but I thing the FFI organisation is planning to save it. It population is going down because it can't find food and has no habitat. This is caused because of humans destroying the environment It interests me because the animal looks like an ape and apes were our ancestors and I thought all of them were dead.

  • Pineapples because they are yellow and I love them
  • Banana because the ones in the store are sprayed with chemicals

  • Lettuce
  • Zucchini

Summer Learning Journey Activity 1 Day 2 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about zip lines. Rotorua has lots of beautiful forests and tourists usually go there and walk through the forest but that damages the plants. So The Rotorua Tours Canopy has found a solution. They go on zip lines through the forest. I have to tell you what would I feel if I were to go on the Rotorua zip line.

I think I would of been scared but I would of been excited to. My heart was probably going to be raising one million miles an hour. It is likely that I would of closed my eyes the whole journey. I'm definitely sure that I would hold on so tight like I have never before. I might have cried a little bit and I would also be really excited because I could see everything like the forests plants.

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about air pollution. China is a beautiful friendly nice place they have good food good buildings and much other stuff. But one thing that is crucial about China is air pollution. One of the most polluted cities in China is Beijing. I have to make a poem that describes my feelings about going to Beijing.
Here is the poem

How I wish it could stop, make this air pollution completely drop
Look at this sky it taking over mankind
Hearts pumping like I'm jumping

Smoke around swishing like a mound of sand
People running like I'm cunning

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 1 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about Waikato river . People believe that there are lot of taniwha live in the river (Taniwha are mythical water spirits). But over the years the river has become polluted which disappoints people especially the people who believe that taniwha live in the river. I have to tell you why or why not do I believe the taniwha live in the river.

I believe it because I watched a video and in the video random bubbles came from the water. Here is the video.  But I also don't believe it because if it was real it probably would of went to the shore or jumpef in the water. But overall I think that it is fake. But I still have a tiny bit of hope that it is real.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 1 Day 1 Week 4

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about rubbish. Most of our rubbish goes to the landfill which is never used again. Some of it goes and is recycled where it is used to make more stuff. There is an event that comes from a person called Dame Suize Moncrieff. The even is when all artists from NZ come and meet and make outfits out of recycled materials. I have to pretend to give an interview to Dame Suize Moncrieff and give her five questions. What are the five questions I am going to ask her.
Here are the questions

  1. What inspired you to make an event about recycling?
  2. What was the best thing that an artist has made out or recycled materials?
  3. How long is the event held for?
  4.  What recycled materials do you use?
  5. Are you planning to make another event?

Summer Learning Journey Activity 3 Day 5 Week 3

Hello bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about acid rain. Acid rain is very bad for the environment. I have to imagine that it was an acid storm and we stayed inside for 3 day and 3 nights. After the storm we decided to take a look and now we have to write a story of what we saw.

We stepped outside and all the plants were dead! Trees were falling animals were tasting the acid water and running away crying. Ponds were neon green and slimy. Houses fell to the ground like nothing. Green water was falling form the jungle trees. People weer running as fast as they can because they touched acid water. Not even one animal or human was outside except us. Our crops were all dead. Our dog was so scared he started hugging us.

Today we are going to talk about climate change. It has got a lot warmer over the past decade. This is a terrible things that leads to flooding more rain and things like that. I am going to share what I do on a rainy day.

I usually play games on computer or read some books. Sometimes I go to my brothers room and spy on him. Most of the time I am eating chips and watching videos on you tube. One percent of the time I am sleeping. Last but not least I might play some board games.

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. What do you do when it is rainy. Comment it. BYE!!

Summer Learning Journey Activity 1 Day 5 Week 3

Hello bloggers
Air pollution is not good for the environment. This is not a small thing it is serious. I have watched a video about air pollution. Now I have to share 3 things that I learning from this video.
Here are the Facts

  1. Air pollution is caused by volcanic eruptions and natural disasters and fires but most of it is caused by humans.
  2. If we can use less fossil fuels and gasoline. I thought we can use bikes instead of cars. WE can put a roof on it and stuff like that.
  3. Fossil fuels are used to burn things and gases release into the atmosphere and trap the suns light heat and energy.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 3 Day 4 Week 3

Hello Bloggers,
Clouds are all around in the sky. Sometimes clouds can form into a shape like a house or computer. Clouds come from water. First the sun heats up some water in the world. For example an ocean. After that it turns into water vapor which is an invisible gas. It gets cold enough to turn back into water. Then floats in the air and sticks to dust and those sorts of things and grows bigger and bigger and then all the water vapor sticks together forming a cloud. I am going to describe a cloud that looks like something. I am doing Picture 3.

The cloud is a white mustache. It must have formed in the morning or near that time because it is really bright outside. The mustache is sort of faint. It looks like a fluffy white mustache. I think that the cloud mustache is the hello neighbor mustache. Hello neighbor is a game and your neighbor has a mustache. It is surrounded by weird shaped clouds. I think it is a Stratus cloud.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 4 Week 3

Hello Bloggers,
Today we are going to talk about the story of Matariki. Every year Seven Stars come to represent the Maori new year. There is a story behind the stars. Here is the story.

Once upon a time there was an adventurer named Mitai. He was trained by Te Rawhara his koroua. His brothers were the most handsome people in the village but weren't married. One day they went hunting and heard singing, followed the sound and saw beautiful women, and the brothers fell in love except Mitai. They only cared about there wives and got so skinny and ugly because their wives only wanted sea food. Mitai told them that their wives were going to kill them by starving them. They caught them and brought it to the furthest away heaven, but the heaven allowed them to shine every year because he fell in love too.
