Today we are going to talk about Maui dolphins. Maui dolphins are native to NZ. They are near extinction. Right now there are about 63 Maui dolphins still alive in the world. For this activity I have to give you 3 facts about Maui Dolphins and 3 fake facts about them.
- Maui dolphins grow 2% in a year. (that means one dolphin grows per year)
- They live up to 20 years old
- They produce a baby every 2-4 years
- They live up to 30 years old
- When a baby is born the mother lets it free
- Maui dolphins are believed to have special powers (Because they are named after the demigod Maui)
Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback. BYE!!

You've done a super job of listing 3 'real' facts about Maui dolphins and 3 'fake' facts. I love the one about the dolphins potentially having special powers. That's very creative!!
Have you ever had a chance to see Maui dolphins off the shore of the west coast of the North Island? It would be very fun to a pod of them, wouldn't it?
I hope you're having some super summer days, enjoying outside time as well as time doing these SLJ activities!!
I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog.
Cheers,
Leslie
