Hello bloggers,
Sir Apirana Ngata was an amazing fighter for rights. He also worked with Dame Whina Cooper. Together they fought for things like helping Maori people preserve their tradition like the poi. Whina Cooper lead a protest to help people with health, education and things like that. Whina Cooper also lead a land hikio march from Northland to Wellington. To many people Sir Apiranga Ngata was a role model. That is why he is on the 50$ note of New Zealand. So I asked a role model of mine, which is my dad, for some advice. He gave me some advice on the Summer Learning Journey. Here it is.
This isn't exactly what he said, so it might be a little different. He said you should support eachother and if your commenting you should post helpful and thoughful comments. Don't argue with them over something like an opinion. If your trying to help them don't put it in a harsh way. Never be mean if their ahead of you or not.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post. (Sorry if it is short). If you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. Who is a role model to you? BYE!!
ReplyDeleteAta Mārie Vitaraag, I hope you’re having a groovy day! What are up to today?
Thanks for sharing about your dad and his awesome piece of wisdom! Have you found it helpful while you’ve been commenting? Your dad sounds like a very wise man and it’s so cool that you look up to him as a role-model.
I think his piece of wisdom is useful, especially the part about not arguing with others’ over their opinions. Even though this can be really hard sometimes, especially when we think someone’s opinion is actually harmful to a person or a group of people, it is important to not get caught up in it, because it is really hard to change someone’s mind and we will probably just waste our energy trying to change it.
I really enjoyed reading and commenting on this post!
Eliza :)
Hi Vitaraag,
ReplyDeleteI liked how your dad told you to support other people, always be helpful, don't argue and never be harsh. I found that really interesting, because if everyone was like that, there'd be no conflict. Do you know any other interesting and inspirational quotes?
