Hello bloggers,
Im here again with another Summer Learning Journey post. As in the previous blog post I was talking about my home country which was Nepal and Logan, Utah. Well Nepal has the tallest mountain reaching about 8848 meters, Mt everest. An earhquake hit Nepal in 2015 and approximatley killed 9000 people and somehow shrunk Mt Everest by an inch. The first person to conquere the impossibele and climb up this mountain, was Sir Edmund Hillary. Some people don't know this, but he did it along with his partner Tenzing Norgay. Suprizingly he tried three attemps before, but was unsuccesful. He has also made an impact on the planet becasue of his kind things to charity. I was now asked to choose a charity and make a brief explanation about what they do. I chose the SPCA.
The SPCA is an acronym and stands for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They help animals who derserve more then they have. Sadly they barley get any funding from the goverment and the money they have to help animals is from people who donate it. On the bright side they have saved numerous animals lives. An estimate amount of animals they have saved is 40k. You can also help by donating or reporting animal cruelty.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed my post. If you have any feedback put it in the comments. What is your favourite charity? BYE!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Vitaraag,
ReplyDeleteI hope you had an awesome and restful Christmas and New Years. I also hope you have been enjoying your summer break!
Kei te pai on making it to your first bonus activity of week one! I like that you have chosen the SPCA charity for this activity and that you have acknowledged their work with animals. This has proven to be a very popular charity with a lot of the students within the Ako Hiko cluster.
I really enjoyed reading your blog post about the SPCA, you have done some very thorough research into the SPCA and I enjoyed reading all the information you have gathered.
Did you know that the SPCA offers free online resources to educate people about the SPCA and animals. I will post the link to their website where you can out more, It is such an awesome resource bank:

Hi Vitaraag,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you described the SPCA as a charity that has saved numerous animals' lives. I also liked how you included an interesting fact about them, that the government doesn't give them much funding, and yet they always try to save animals. Would you want to adopt an animal from the SPCA?
