Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 5 Activity 2

Hello bloggers,
Yursa Mardini is a master swimmer. He was born in Syria. On a mission to travel out of Syria because of war. They were planning to go to Europe. They went there and departed for greece in a owercrowded dingy. Suddenly  in of the middle of the trip the boats engine fused. All the people tumbled in the water. Heroicially Yursa and her sisters swam for three hours and they were determined to save all their passengers. they saved the lives of 20 people. Over time she was famous for her courage and was a role model for people.


She was then recognized by the Olympics and competed. Amazingly she represented lots of people. Then she became a refugee. Titles of her were contangious. They scattered all around the world. She has won numerous awards for this because of her courage she met world famous leader including presidents. Currently she lives in Berlin, Germany. She is practicing for the 2020 olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

    Thank you for completing today's activity about retelling the story of Yusra Mardini .I think her story is truly amazing, and a very inspirational one too! I really like that you used information from her original story, but taken key words and information and retold this story in your own words ka pai!

    I think it is cool that she is now training for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, will you be tuning in to watch the olympics? If so, what are your favourite events/sports to watch?

    I liked how you explained what Yusra Mardini did, and how her actions (And the actions of the two other people that helped her) saved the other passengers on the boat. Do you think you could do the same thing Yusra did, if it happened to you?
