Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2 Activity 1

Have you ever heard about Jean Batten or Jane Gardner Batten. Her real name is Jane Gardner Batten. She was born in 1909 in Roturua New Zealand. Later in her life she was known as Jean Batten. Around the 1930's she made serveral solo world breaking flights including, first person solo to fly from New Zealand to England and lots of trips from England to Aurtralia and Brazil.  She later died of an infection in 1982. Another amazing Aeronaut at that time was Amelia Earhart. She was also succesful, as she was the first person to fly over the Atlantic ocean. So I was asked to make a venn diagram and state some similarities and diffrences. Here it is.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback put it in the comments. What similarties and diffrences do you have? BYE!!

  1. Hi again Vitaraag, Kueni here from the Summer Learning Journey.

Thank you for completing Activity one for Week 1, Day 2. I really enjoyed reading the venn diagram you have made for your blog post today about two famous aviators - Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart.

I really like that you have read through the information on the activity and placed them accordingly into your venn diagram, ka pai! Did you know that Jean Batten would always take silk dress with her everywhere so that should could look beautiful anywhere in the world she landed?

These amazing ladies, travelled to many countries around the world. Where in the world would you want to travel to, if you could go anywhere in the world?

    Nga Mihi,
    Kueni :)

  2. Hi Vitaraag,
I liked how you said that both Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten were both amazing women that flew planes all around the world. I also liked how you provided some interesting facts about both of them, like how Jean Batten brought a silk dress with her to wear for a party. Would you want to fly a plane like they did?
