Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2 Activity 2

Hello bloggers,
Im sure you all are famous of Neil Armstrong. He was the first ever person to set foot on the moon. This momentus occasion happened in 1969. As he stepped foot on the moon he said a quote that will never be forgotten, ' That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind'. He did this along with his three friends Neil Armstrog, Buzz Aldrin, and Micheal Collins. They boarded Apollo 11 for this journey. Many tragedys have occured while trying to go to the moon. You can jump really high because there is barely any gravity on the moon. So I was asked to make a poem about how I would feel if I was going to be the first person to set foot on the moon. Here it is.

While the moon rises in the milky way
I find a picture perfect beautiful display
Rocky moon, empty sky
I truly am so up high!

My feet are trembling
It's so spine chilling
But my heart always beats in excitment
This is what I call a present

Now I am famous
Because I took the risk
I did something so couargeous

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback leave it in the comments. How would you feel if you were on the moon? BYE!!

  1. Tālofa Lava Vitaraag,

Tino pai on an awesome blog post about landing on the moon as Neil Armstrong. I really enjoyed reading your acrostic poem about how you would feel if it were you landing on the moon for the very first time.

I really like how detailed your poem is, I like the different language you use in your poem to describe your feelings. I like that in the last part you talk about being courageous. Because it really way courageous of Neil Armstrong to go up to the moon and be the first ever human to set foot on it.

Something that is quite similar to what it might’ve been like up in space, would be the stardome which is at One Tree Hill, have you ever been there before? It is such an awesome experience and even though its not space, you get to look at all the stars and different constellations.

I look forward to reading more of your blog posts over the summer, enjoy the rest of you day!

    Kueni :)

  3. Hi Vitaraag,
I liked how you described the moon as rocky, and your surroundings as perfect and beautiful. I also liked how you talked about how you felt, with your feet trembling and your heart beating away in excitement. Would want to go to the moon if you actually could?
