Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 3 Activty 1

Hello bloggers,
Kate Shepard is a person who hs changed the world. She made the right for women to vote in 1893. He is now printed on the 10$ bank note. One interesting fact is that New Zealand was the first country to allow women to vote. She was born on March 10th 1848. She will always be remebered for her courage and strength. If she wasn't on the 10 dollar note who would be on it? That what I will be showing you.

I think Jean Batten should be on it. The reason being she showed that the impossible was possible. She flew so much. This is great inpiration for younger people. She is kinda like Kate Shepard. Exept she didn't prove that women should be able to vote. She proved that you could do anything. So that is my explanation. Here is a photo I found of her that is in labeled for reuse.

  1. Bula vi naka Vitaraag,

Kueni here again from the Summer Learning Journey. How is your day going, what did you get up to today? Only a couple more weeks left until schools back!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog post today about Kate Shepherd and changing the picture on the $10 note. She really made history, not only in NZ but in the world which I think is so cool. That, in a way makes us as a country, NZ change makers due to being the first country ever to let women vote.

Thank you for sharing about who you would choose to be on the $10 note if you could. I find it really awesome that you have chosen Jean Batten, especially because she has been apart of our activities in week one. Also well done on explaining why you would choose her, she really is an inspiration for young people, especially women everywhere.

If I could choose someone to go on the $10 note it would have to be Helen Clark. I think she is such an inspirational woman and she has done so much with her life including working for the United Nations (UN).

I think you have forgotten to add the image of Jean Batten, as the activity asks you to also include a photograph of the person you would want to put on the $10 note. Please update your blog post with this :)

    Blog ya later,
    Kueni.

  3. Hi Vitaraag,
I liked how you said that Jean Batten is an inspiration to younger people because she made impossible things happen. I also liked how you said that she's kind of like Kate Sheppard, but she didn't protest for women's right to vote. Would you want to become a pilot like her one day?
