Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 4 Activty 1

Hello bloggers,
Hone Heke was a cheif of Ngapuhi in Northland. He was known as a strong and fearless warrior. He fought for the Maori during the wars between them and the British. Amazingly Hone Heke was the first rangatira to sign the treaty of Waitangi. Even though the treaty of Waitangi was signed the rangatira people were losing there power. In rage Hone Heke cut down the British flag at Kororareku. Sometimes when we are angry we can't express our feelings in words, so some cultures have proverbs. I chose a proverb that is reltable to me. Here it is.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback or question please lave it in the comments. Who are your ancestors? BYE!!

  1. Namaste Vitaraag,

Thank you for completing week two, day four, activity one about the whakataukÄ« - did you know about this concept before you did this activity? It’s really interesting isn’t it!

I like the whakataukÄ« you’ve chosen and think it’s awesome how you’ve related it back to your own family, it’s cool to see you making connections like that! Ka pai for presenting your ideas on a bright and colourful poster too, this makes your post much more eye-catching!

    Choice work!
    Eliza :)

  2. Hi Vitaraag,
I liked how you said that the quote "Stand strong, O moko. The reflection of your parents. The blueprint of your ancestors." is relatable to you because your parents do lots of things for you. I also liked how you added in lots of pictures of families. Do you know any other inspirational quotes?
