Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5 Activity 3

Hello bloggers,
Sadly the Summer Learning Journey is coming to an end. This is the last activity. After this, all I have to do is comment on other people's blog. So for the last activity I have to choose my favourite activity from the whole Summer Learning Journey, my least favourite, three things I learned and what would I do to improve the Summer Learning Journey. Here are my decisions.

  1. I really like this activity I am doing right now! I like it because it is the last activity and I get to share my thoughts on the Summer Learning Journey. I also like this activity because after this I get to comment and view other people's blogs and what they are up to.
  2. My least favourite one was... NONE OF THEM. You heard me loud and clear ladies and gentlemen. None of the activities really bugged me out or anything. Sure some of them took a lot of time but you don't always have to rush. All of them were enjoyable and I learned a lot.
  3. The three things I learned are that even though New Zealand is a small country we have a lot of talented people, including Aaradhna, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Parris Goebal, Steven Adams and much more. The second fact is that most people that are famous had to struggle to get to where they are today. For example LeBron James. He grew up without his dad. The third one is that Nelson Mandela served 27 years in prison for fighting for African Americans and the BOOM he became the president.
  4. I feel like the Summer Learning Journey never had any issues with me. I feel like they shouldn't change anything.

I hope you enjoyed my Journey though these 60 activities. I enjoyed them so much. Sadly next year I won't be able to participate as I am going to be going to another school which doesn't compete in the Summer Learning Journey. Over the next couple days I may edit some of my activities. I really enjoyed this. Overall this journey has taught me so many things that I usually would never find out. A special thank you to the Summer Learning Journey team for this extraordinary opportunity. BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( ðŸ˜”

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5 Activity 2

Hello bloggers,
Misty Copeland is a world famous ballet. She started learning ballet when she was 3 - 4 years old! At the age of 13 she started taking ballet lessons. Amazingly, at the age of 14 she had won a national competition for ballet dancer. Keep in mind that there were also a lot of other people involved in this competition. Another one of her accomplishments were that in 2015 she became the first African American to be the leader of the American ballet theatre. During an interview with her she said a inspirational quote which was 'see dreams through me'. So for this activity I went on a website that had a lot of quotes. I chose one. Here it is.

This basicially means if you can dream big than you are already better than smart people.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. I got the backround picture from labeled for reuse. Have you heard of this quote? BYE!!

Hello bloggers,
Parris Goebal is a phenomenal dancer. She is kinda famous in New Zealand. If you have not heard of her then I will explain. She was born in Manurewa, South New Zealand. In her younger years she was really intrigued with dance. When she was 10 she took hip hop lessons. At the age of 15 she was amazing. She was so good that she started her own crew named ReQuest. She went on to win several hip hop championships. After this she started many new crews that also won many awards worldwide. She also worked with other famous musicians. So for this activity I watched their award winning performance. I have to state my opinion. Here it is.

I was amazed. Like I though that the thing I just watched wasn't humanly possible. I really like how all of them we spot on time. I also like how they did an action that related to the music. They also had matching costumes. Another thing that is amazing is that they had a really big group of people. That added to make a really good affect. I feel like they don't really need to improve anything. One thing that I thing that they should do is like add a story line or something like that. (That is just my opinion).

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. if you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. Do you agree with me? BYE!!

Hello bloggers,
Banksy is a talented England artist which is secretive. He is so secretive that no person knows much about him. He does art in secrecy. He is actually a street artist. Art is not always just some drawing. Sometimes art can make a pathway. I mean like it is telling a story. For example, in Christchurch an earthquake hit and destroyed many things. So many things that some buildings still need to be repaired to this day. Street artists in Christchurch decided to paint pictures of a beautiful sky, so peoples spirits would be raised. I checked out the Christchurch Street Art website of the earthquake. I now have to choose two of the pictures I want from there. After that I have to identify the similarities and differences between the both of them. Here is my explanation and pictures.

The Similarities:They are both most likely graffiti art (I think). Both of them have blue. All of them are really detailed.
The Differences: One of them has way more designs on it. One of them has the whole picture covered up. One of them has different colours. They mean different things.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. Would you like to be a street artist? BYE!!

Hello bloggers,
Fatu Feu'u is a Samoan artist who create amazing pieces of art. Even though he is an artist he still creates things like sculptors and much more. He really enjoys making tapacloths. Different countries have different styles of tapacloths. For example In Tonga it is called the ngatu, in Fiji the masi, in Niue  the hiapo, in the Cook Islands - the tapa, and in Hawaii the kapa. So the activity asked me to invent my own type of tapacloth. So here it is.

On the outside there are flowers. they represent earth an nature. The long sticks of green are grass. The person in the middle represents to take care of everything.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. Do you like my tapacloth? BYE!!

Hello bloggers,
Coco Chanel was a french clothes fashion designer around the early 1900s. She was very inspiring because she created clothes for women that look phenomenal and were very comfortable. Before this amazing invention European women had to wear clothes that pulled up their waist and overall was terrible. Coco used the men fashion for the base of the women's clothes. Twenty Seven Names is a company that still is around. They are founded by two best friend known as Rachel Easting and Anjali Burnett. Both of them met at primary school. Soon Rachel studied Art and Anjali studied Fashion. It wasn't long after that they made an amazing foundation. Sometimes they employ young women so that their foundation never dies. So I read an article and found out how Twenty Seven Names got their name. (That sentence is ironic). So I will explain how they got their name and if I think they should change their name or not. Here it is.

So originally in 2006 their name was Love Lies Bleed. Soon they figured out that another company had used that name. Since they didn't want to be copyrighted, all of the workers there wrote down one name they thought would be good. They couldn't decide one, but then they realised that there were 27 names. So that is where they got their name from. I feel like they shouldn't change the name because those 27 workers helped them to achieve them their goals and come up with a unique name with a funny story.

Hello bloggers,
Julian Dennison is a young boy which has starred in many films and ads. He is from Lower Hutt around Wellington. Surprisingly, he is only 17 years old. As I said he is still in a lot of movies and commercials. He has been in the Lynx ads and has been in The Hunt for WilderPeople, Deadpool etc. Even though he is in a lots of ads he has also done things to help others. For example he has travelled to Uganda with the World Vision team to support the people who had to leave because of wars. So for this activity I have to decide whether or not I should be like Julian Dennison and travel to help the people. Here is my opinion.

I definitely would go. Here is why. Firstly, I could meet new people and maybe make some new friends. Secondly, I would go because what if I was in the same situation that they are in, I would want someone to take my bad thoughts out of my head. Thirdly, I can know how these people live and what they have to experience. Hopefully I will be able to go. Even though I can't help everyone in the world If I help at least one person to them it could mean the world.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any feedback please leave it in the comments. Would you join the World Vision team? BYE!!
